Floyd Mayweather Teases Possible Investment Into English Soccer Team
Floyd Mayweather’s money might be getting longer.
The all-star boxer teased the possibility of investing in Newcastle United soccer team.
He first expressed interest in the team in 2018, but headlines concerning the alleged investment recirculated thanks to a comment he made while in Newcastle earlier this month.
He said, according to reports:
“In the U.S. we call it soccer, but the Newcastle football team is an unbelievable team…If the people want me to buy the Newcastle team, let me know!”
Interestingly enough, that’s reportedly as far as it went, so it’s not clear if he was kidding, or just wanted to get a reaction from the crowd.
Sources close to Floyd Mayweather said he’s not completely canceling out the idea, but still hasn’t had any official conversations yet.
Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather has brought in $1 billion during his lengthy time in boxing.
Only time will tell if he plans on putting his money into the soccer team.
But it looks like he had a fun time while overseas.
