Jay Electronica and Joe Budden Exchange Insults In Twitter Beef Over Jay’s New Album, Joe Comments: “It’s A Hov Mixtape Now!”
Not everyone is feeling rapper Jay Electronica‘s long-awaited debut studio album, A Written Testimony. One of those people is former rapper/media personality, Joe Budden. After a decade-long hiatus, Jay finally released his album, which includes enough features from his Roc Nation boss, Jay-Z, to be considered a joint album.
Joe Budden’s take on A Written Testimony is that Jay’s debut was drowned in the shadow of the massive superstar, Jay-Z. On The Joe Budden Podcast, he said:
“You’ve been missing for ten years- which is cool, ’cause you’ve been living life. But that confidence that I thought you might’ve been living life with is suppressed…that lens that I’m looking through paints the story of a different MC. And that MC is one that would get smacked around by Hov on every song.”
Jay took to Twitter with what Joe believed to be a subliminal diss about his podcast comment. Joe Budden took a shot at the New Orleans native:
“I never got absolutely mopped around on my own project either… @ me, not Rory.”
Jay Electronica responded:
“i never heard your albums bro. may Allah bless your career as a journalist.”

But, Joe Budden refused to take Jay’s jabs lying down. He replied:
“I took you off yours & it’s a Hov mixtape now… Peace be unto you as well King.”
Yikes! Jay Electronica wasn’t done subbing the “Love and Hip-Hop” star, though.

Do you agree or disagree with Joe Budden’s opinion on Jay Electronica’s album? Let us know in the comments.
