Diddy Repsonds to Criticism for Stopping Lizzo from Twerking but not Draya

Social media users are calling Diddy a hypocite (real name Sean Combs), 50, for stopping singer Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson), 31, from twerking on his Instagram live. Some social media users seem to question why he allowed model-actress Draya to twerk just few hours later, with similar music.

Diddy hosted on Easter Sunday what he called “the world’s biggest dance-a-thon” on his Instagram live. He was raising money for healthcare workers who are working around the clock to save lives during this coronavirus pandemic.

Lizzo joined to thank healthcare workers before twerking to Money Bagg Yo’s “1-2-3.” Diddy and his sons, Quincy, Justin and Christian were also on the live. As Lizzo starts to dance Diddy comes back into the camera saying

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, Let’s play something that’s a little bit family friendly.”

Lizzo apologizes and suggest they play her song “Juice.”

A few hours later, Draya was invited on Diddy’s Instagram live. She danced and twerked to Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up.” Diddy and his sons seemingly hyped Draya up as she danced around her house.

Diddy is now responding to some criticism about him stopping Lizzo’s appearance. He says:

“There’s one thing I want to make clear. My queen, my sister Lizzo when I stopped the music it’s because it had a lot of curses in there. Not because she was twerking. She’s one of the best twerkers in the world. Ok, lets keep that clear. It wasn’t about twerking, you’re allowed to twerk on Easter. It was about, it was a lot cursing in the record and I don’t need child services knocking on my door right now. You understand. That’s why we stopped the record. Lizzo we love you. Everybody stop looking for the negative.”

Some social media are still questining Diddy’s explanation. See some reactions below:
