DaBaby Releases New Album, Enlists Ashanti & Megan Thee Stallion For “Nasty” [LISTEN]
DaBaby is back with new music, dropping his third studio release that follows up his critically acclaimed 2019 project ‘KIRK.’ The 28-year-old’s ‘Blame It on Baby’ features a star-studded cast of artists that includes Future, Roddy Ricch, Quavo, Megan Thee Stallion, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Ashanti.

Prior to his release on Friday, DaBaby shared his creative album artwork that features the rapper in a shirtless BAPE camouflage vest matched with a durag and face mask which pays homage to the current coronavirus pandemic. In a video, DaBaby explained amid several artist postponing new music he’s releasing his full album because,
“I’m f*cking cut like that, I’m f*cking cut like that. I wish you could see it the way I would see it.”
He later calls his release,
“Album of the year, seven features.”

DaBaby adds,
“Everything about this album, everybody featured on this album, it’s just 100% genuine. You know what I’m saying, so you’re going to hear it in the music. You going to hear the chemistry, you’re going to hear the vibe.”
The flirtatious rapper was particularly excited about his joint with Megan Thee Stallion and his childhood crush Ashanti:
“I got a song with Ashanti and Megan Thee Stallion. A lot of people don’t know, and Ashanti ain’t even know. She used to be my girlfriend. No cap. Back in, like ’04, ’05, swear to God.”
As previously reported, the Charlotte rapper unveiled the album on Tuesday (April 14th), then on Wednesday announced his 13-single tracklist in an infomercial-styled promo video called “1-800-Blame-It-on-Baby.”
Within mintues of its release, ‘Blame It on Baby’ generated over 25 million streams only via Spotify.
