Are you ready for new Babyface music?
Legendary producer and singer Babyface joined the ladies of “The View” Tuesday (April 28) to discuss a variety of topics, from his recent coronavirus diagnosis to the new music he’s dropping next month. Babyface started off the interview with the ladies discussing how he found out he had contracted the coronavirus. He said he contracted the virus after not feeling following a trip to Las Vegas. His wife, Nicole Pantenburg, tested positiveas well. It was previously reported that the original IG Live battle between Babyface and Teddy Riley had to be rescheduled because Babyface and his family were ill. He posted a message on Instagram alerting his fans that the battle would have to be rescheduled.
They ultimately went head-to-head in front of 4 million fans.
On “The View”, he revealed that he was a little hesitant to participate in the battle at first, however his producing partner L.A Reid asked him to consider doing the battle for the celebration of black music. He also was convinced by Andre Harrell, founder of Uptown Records and Vice Chairman of Revolt, Diddy’s multi-platform music network. Diddy also gave Babyface a personal call telling him to stop being shy and do the music battle. Kenny ultimately decided to do the battle because he felt that the music would be a great escape from the current COVID-19 pandemic.
At the end of the interview, Whoopi Goldberg announced that Babyface would be hosting a live Mother’s Day special and dropping new music. Babyface said that he is always writing new music but never releases it, so he felt that this would be a great platform to show off his music. The IG Live special will be called “Waiting to Exhale” and will be held on May 10.
Lastly, the producer discussed his work with former First Lady Michelle Obama with the initiative “When We All Vote”, which encourages the youth of America to register to vote and realize how important their voice is to the future of the country. See the full interview below.
