Doja Cat Teases New ‘Say So’ Remix Featuring Nicki Minaj
Doja Cat is enlisting the help of ‘Queen,’ rapper Nicki Minaj for the disco-infused chart-topper, “Say So” remix. On Wednesday (April 29th), a short 19-second teaser of the intro was revealed via Twitter featuring the powerhouse rap duo. On the track, Nicki Minaj takes over Doja Cat’s sneak-peek by singing and stamping her mark saying,

The rap duo’s remix will reportedly be available on Friday (May 1st). The ‘Hot Pink’ rapper looks to capitalize on the song’s success as the original track is currently No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has sold more than 1.5 million units in the U.S., according to reports.
In an interview last year, Doja Cat spoke about the growing anticipation of collaborating with Nicki Minaj. She tells Billboard,
“People thought the surprise feature was going to be Nicki because I blurred the name out at first — and, well, the album is titled Hot Pink. Also, I’m just a huge fan of Nicki. I blurred out the name, but it wasn’t necessarily to create a sense of anticipation specifically around.”
In addition, Doja was recently caught in a short Twitter feud with a Nicki Minaj fan after an illustration of a ‘Rolling Stone‘ magazine cover featuring Nicki, Doja, and Megan Thee Stallion surfaced.
The online drama was later cleared up by Doja in a recent interview. She says the drama with the Barbz does not mean she has an issue with Nicki.
“This person was bullying [my fan] at this point and just saying just mean, horrible things. I’m standing up for [my fan] and then I’m just getting upset with everybody. And then I said, ‘These people are idiots. They’re children, they’re scum.’ Because they were, those five people are scum. They suck. They literally suck. They don’t even know who they are.”
The rapper continued on to say that she considers herself to be a fan of Nicki and the internet twisted her words for drama.
“So then people started spinning it, of course, because that’s the internet. They start spinning it that I’m talking about every single person who likes Nicki Minaj when they don’t even know I’m the biggest Nicki Minaj fan. So they’re stupid. They don’t even know me. So they’re saying things that they have no idea what they’re talking about.”
With “Say So” released on RCA Records, Doja is the first woman on the label to earn a first career top-five Hot 100 hit in a lead role since Sia.
