Tyrese Gets Emotional On The 1 Year Anniversary Of John Singleton’s Passing, Shares Never Before Seen Footage (VIDEO)
Singer and actor Tyrese says he’s been feeling bad energy lately, and he finally realized why.
Tyrese realized that it has been exactly a year since the passing of famed director John Singleton, who Tyrese calls his “hero.” He said in an emotional video on Instagram Wednesday (April 29),
“These last 48 hours I’ve been isolating and slipping in and out of bad energy and vibes…Didn’t really know why…. Then I get a text that one year ago today I loss my hero John Singeton…. My Mr Miyagi… The man who sat me down and poured into me and seen more in me than I seen in myself around acting and movies…… Although prayers are always welcome….. I’m going to be ok… If you can do anything for me today..? Just pray John’s beloved Mother, Father and kids and family…. Still can’t believe you’re gone….. Miss you everyday John! Feel blessed cause you got to meet and hold my daughter Soraya!!!! #RIP to both Kings….. King Walked and King Singleton….. #OneOfThoseDays”
The Boyz In The Hood director passed at the age of 51, on April 29th, 2019, after suffering from a major stroke.
The family said in a statement:
“John passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends. We want to thank the amazing doctors at Cedars-Sinai Hospital for their expert care and kindness and we again want thank all of John’s fans, friends and colleagues for all of the love and support they showed him during this difficult time.”
John Singleton helped Tyrese become a household name due to the success of his role in Singleton’s hit 2001 film, Baby Boy. John Singleton also directed the singer in the 2003 film 2 Fast 2 Furious and 2005’s Four Brothers, which all starred Tyrese.
Tyrese also shared never before seen footage on his Instagram, including, outtakes of him and the cast of Baby Boy.
