Kehlani spoke on her album cover in a press release,

“The album cover is a depiction of the never-ending duality of ‘good’ and ‘bad.’ It’s a tale of perspective. The sun is shining, the sky is blue, but clearly something has gotten my attention. Paired with the back cover, we come into the question of is the grass really greener on the other side? Good things are good… until they aren’t. Then, were they ever really good?”

Kehlani revealed her 15-song track-list on Monday (May 4th), which includes the previously-released singles “Toxic” and “F&MU.” In addition, Kehlani enlisted the help of quarantine King, Tory Lanez, and Jhené Aiko.

As reported on Wednesday (April 29th), Kehlani opened up on how this album has been the “Hardest thing” she’s finished while under quarantine,

“Yall have no idea what it’s taken to get this album out. I’m going to show you soon. It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but f***it feels so rewarding because it wasn’t going to come out at first. I said f*** that.”

With expressing her personal and deep emotions of her past relationship, the singer said in March that her transparency can often be misunderstood.

“I almost wanna feel a way when people assume what/who the songs I release are about, but on the flip side, it means people trust and put faith in my transparency… expecting vulnerability & honesty from me everytime now.”

Kehlani’s upcoming album follows her 2017 debut ‘SweetSexySavage,’ was previously delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Kehlani tweeted in March,

“I HAD a release date. We’re unable to complete any of our plans or move forward with the album at the moment due to the pandemic.”
