Oprah Shows Off Massive Cabbage Picked From Her Garden [WATCH]
Oprah Winfrey’s garden is legit!
She shared a Harvest Day video with her Instagram followers and in the clip, Oprah Winfrey is seen holding on to a huge cabbage that she picked from her own garden. The media mogul announced that she plans to use the massive vegetable to make slaw on Memorial Day (May 25).
In the video posted to IG, Oprah Winfrey captioned:
The Lockdown has not stopped green things from growing. I get a lot of joy from gardening. Anyone else enjoy?
The 66-year-old actress said in the video:
“Y’all are not going to believe this. But, this is a cabbage that just came out of my garden. Just pull from the garden. I’m telling you.. Not one chemical use whatsoever because we don’t believe in using it around here. And it’s heavy too […] This is going to make a lot of good slaw for Memorial Day,[Monday].”
Since being forced to stay at home during quarantine, Winfrey has been quite busy. To help those affected by the current pandemic, Winfrey donated $12 million to COVID-19 relief funds grant recipients through her charity foundation on May 20. The money will go to organizations in Nashville, Chicago, Milwaukee, Baltimore, and Kosciusko, Mississippi that are currently assisting underserved communities.
In a statement, Winfrey said:
“I’m proud to be able to support the communities I have called home. These organizations are working tirelessly on the ground to help those hit the hardest by the pandemic, meeting people where they are and serving in ways needed most.”
It was also previously reported Winfrey, alongside her longtime partner Stedman Graham, honored the late Ahmaud Arbery (May 8) on his birthday by walking for 2.6 miles. It would have been Arbery’s 26th birthday, but, unfortunately, Arbery was allegedly murdered just outside of Brunswick, Georgia February 23. The tragic killing has since made national headlines.
