UFC lightweight champion, Conor McGregor has announced his retirement from the sport for the 3rd time in four years.  Conor McGregor, who retired in 2016 and 2019, says that he is serious about retirement this time saying,

“The game just does not excite me, and that’s that.”

Conor McGregor posted the news on Twitter with a photo of his mom after winning a World title, telling his mom she can pick any house she wants.

He also let his Instagram fans know that he was leaving the sport, posting a photo of a brownie cake, that reads “Happy Retirement Daddy.”

Conor McGregor also says that he’s been looking for opponent options, but none of them excited him,

“All this waiting around. There’s nothing happening. I’m going through opponent options, and there’s nothing really there at the minute. There’s nothing that’s exciting me.”

Fellow boxer Floyd Mayweather caught wind of Conor Mcgregor leaving the sport, and hopped in the comments, calling for round two of their fight, where Floyd Mayweather defeated Conor McGregor in 10th round by TKO, in 2017,

“If I’m not mistaken, didn’t you tell Mike Tyson you could beat me if we fought a second time? Now you’re quitting! I thought you wanted to beat the best?”

He ended the invitation, letting Conor McGregor know that if the second fight happens, he plans to win again,

“Well, if you decide to come back, I will be waiting to punish you again.”

George Floyd, Floyd Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather recently made headlines, when he revealed his plans to pay for George Floyd‘s funeral costs. According to reports,

“Mayweather shared that he was distraught after learning the minimal charge former officer Chauvin received for killing George — just third-degree murder and manslaughter. He told Jason that he was in a group chat with Anzel Jennings, the CEO of TMT music label, who shared that he actually grew up with George in Houston.”

Following their conversion, Jennings reached out to the family on Mayweather’s behalf. The 43-year-old star felt compelled to do something so he committed to paying for the three funeral services in Houston, George’s hometown – Minnesota and Charlotte. The family is also looking to have a fourth service in another location. Mayweather has also offered to take care of those expenses as well”
