Jussie Smollett Blasts Lying Cops, Cites Current Protests In Ongoing Chicago Legal Battle
Actor, Jussie Smollett, is criticizing lying cops and utilizing the global Black Lives Matter protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death, to do so. The FOX Empire television star is in an ongoing legal battle with the city of Chicago as they are currently suing him for $130k to recover investigative costs they incurred during an alleged staged attack that they claim he faked, (watch video below).
Now, according to reports Jussie Smollett is using the national protests and widespread attention of police coverups to seek documents in the termination of Chicago Superintendent Eddie Johnson, whom Jussie Smollett says was involved in his case; however, Chicago PD rejects Smollett’s requests, maintaining that this case is about Smollett lying to the police and not Eddie Johnson.

Smollett has always denied reports that the attack was staged and he eventually filed a counterclaim against the city of Chicago and several police officers claiming he was the victim of malicious prosecution. Earlier this year, a federal judge dismissed his lawsuit.
Though Jussie Smollett has been absent from the media, he recently opened up on social media debuting a new hairdo and a new song about political climate. He can be heard singing,
“I just want to sleep. I don’t want to see…all this ugly that’s surrounding me. I Just want to rest…I gave it my best. I never took more I always to less.”
