D.L. Hughley Faints Mid-Punchline At Comedy Show After ‘Suffering From Exhaustion’ [VIDEO]
Update #2: D.L. Hughley is speaking out, addressing his recent health scare. The comedian posted a video from the hospital, sharing that he was suffering from exhaustion and dehydration. He also shares that he tested positive for COVID-19, but had no symptoms. D.L. Hughley plans to go to his hotel and self-quarantine. See the clip below.
Original Story: D. L. Hughley gave fans a real scare during his comedy set in Nashville Friday night (June 19th). The legendary comedian was performing at Zanies Comedy Club and in the middle of what appeared to have been a punchline, D.L. Hughley said something unintelligible. On the now-viral video shared on various social media outlets, the audience hesitantly started to chuckle and one person can be heard asking
“What?”
Suddenly, the comedic actor stopped saying anything, appeared to go motionless, and as a man on the side of the stage approached, he fainted nearly falling off of the stool he had been sitting on during the show. The man grabbed him but was unable to stop his head from hitting the floor. The audience gasped as someone else ran onstage to assist D.L. Hughley They were able to move him offstage, through a side door, and out of sight of concerned fans.

One attendee gave an account of what happened during the incident.
Yes ur right. My daughter and I were sitting at the right of the stage and it was a very scary thing to watch. I treated my daughter to her first comedy show and I tht who better than D.L. Hughley, RIGHT! When he slurred his words We were immediately alarmed! ?? for him!

His rep has since released a statement saying that he was
“suffering from exhaustion after all the week’s work and travel, and was kept overnight at the hospital for tests under doctor’s orders. He is awake and feeling better, and wishes to thank everyone for the very kind prayer and thoughts.”
D.L. Hughley has also responded to some of the well-wishers on Twitter and indicated he had been checked out by a doctor.
