Her message comes amid the public outcry following the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.
George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed while in the custody of four Minneapolis police officers last month. One officer in particular, Derek Chauvin, pinned his knee on George Floyd’s neck for nearly 9 minutes, ultimately leading to his death. All four officers have been fired. Derek Chauvin has been charged with second-degree murder, while the other three officers have been charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
