Kim Kardashian Salutes 30 Black KKW Beauty Models: I Encourage Other Brands To Book These Incredible Women
Yesterday (July 7th) was blackout Tuesday, which urged the world to shop with black-owned businesses only. Kim Kardashian West used her platform to put money in the pockets of black models, that have worked for her KKW Beauty brand. Kim Kardashian West started her company three years ago. The entrepreneur and activist, took to her Twitter to post images of some of the “gorgeous black models” the company has collaborated with. She wrote,
“We’ve had the privilege of photographing the most gorgeous black models since launching @kkwbeauty 3 years ago. I’m so grateful for their creative collaborations and I encourage other brands to book these incredible women for jobs in the future.”
She followed up her post with 30 photos, of KKW Beauty featuring the models, and how they can be booked,

Her post comes just after her youngest sister, beauty mogul Kylie Jenner faced major backlash on social media after she posted photos of herself on vacation, wearing a dress from a black designer LoudBrand Studios, without tagging the brand.
The trending conversation began after a user posted this tweet:

This is the dress that caused the controversy online,

While many users felt that Kylie Jenner had a responsibility to tag the designer of the dress, others felt as though it is her page, and unless it was a paid post, she had no obligation to tag the company.
Kylie Jenner has now tagged the brand while responding to the criticism. She wrote,
“ok this is just a reach. why would i ever REFUSE to tag a brand and block comments. this is completely false. i think this brand is amazing and i wanted to show support and will continue to do so. everyone go check out @LoudBrndStudios”

She also agreed to post black-owned businesses that she wears or uses in the future.

LoudBrand Studios shared that they were “overwhelmed” with the outpouring of love for their brand, and thanked Kylie Jenner for being featured on her platform,
