Nia Long Feels Bad For Will & Jada Smith: They’ve Been Extremely Vulnerable W/ Their Personal Story
Actress Nia Long is taking up for Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith as they continue to receive mixed reactions from their marital issue becoming very public. As previously reported, August Alsina claimed to have a relationship with Jada Pinkett-Smith while she was married to Will Smith.
Now, Nia Long, who played Will Smith’s girlfriend and fiancée Lisa Wilkes in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” says she wishes that people would leave them alone,
“I feel bad for Will and Jada right now, because they’ve been extremely vulnerable with their personal story, and it takes a lot of courage to do that. And I wish that people would back off and leave them alone. “
The wife-to-be also says that the key to any relationship is giving your partner room.
“The key to ay relationship, is give your partner the room to be who he needs to be, who she needs to be. And if it means you’re taking a break to do that? That the break!”
“You know, Will Smith is an icon in our community, and when you have a show like Red Table Talk, you want to be what you are sharing with the world, and that’s gotta be a tremendous amount of pressure. We all have our ups and downs with love. Love is a complicated thing.”

Will and Jada Smith addressed August Alsina’s comments on a recent episode of Red Table Talk, where Jada admitted to being in an “entanglement” with August while she and Will Smith were separated.
She says,
“I got into a different kind of entanglement with August. One thing I want to clean up… about you giving ‘permission’ which is… the only person that can give permission in that circumstance is myself”.
She continued,
“But what August was probably trying to communicate because I could see how he could see it as permission because we were separated amicably, and I think he wanted to make it clear he’s not a homewrecker because he’s not.”
Will Smith asked her to clarify what she meant by “entanglement,” she said,
“Yes, it was a relationship absolutely.”
