Damon Dash Visits Kanye West After Kim Kardashian Pleads With Public To Show Compassion & Empathy

Music mogul Damon Dash visited Kanye West at his Wyoming ranch amidst the rapper’s public battle with bipolar disorder. Damon Dash took to his Instagram to let his followers know that he was checking in on Kanye West. In the caption of the picture, he simply wrote,

“We Good”

Damon Dash isn’t the first celeb that checked on Kanye this week, as comedian Dave Chappelle flew into Wyoming from Ohio after seeing Kanye West’s alarming tweets and comments from his presidential rally in South Carolina. On July 21, Dave Chappelle hung out with Kanye. The rapper posted the footage and thanked Dave for visiting.

Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian West broke her silence earlier today (July 22) after Kanye made a series of accusations against his wife and his mother in law Kris Jenner.

Kim Kardashian West has since made her first public statement about her husband’s public battle with his mental health. She posted the following messages to her Instagram Story:

“As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly painful it is to understand. I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because i am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health. Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor…”

As many have pointed out, Kim attributes a part of his emotional nature to his mother, Donda West‘s, 2007 death:

“I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause string emotions. He is a brilliant but complicated person on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions…”

Kim ended by pleading with the media to express compassion in their reporting of recent events:

“…I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this. Thank you for those who have expressed concern for Kanye’s well being… With Love and Gratitude, Kim Kardashian West”
