Draya Michele Apologizes Again After Joking About Tory Lanez Allegedly Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Update #2 (July 24th): Draya Michele has issued a second apology after joking about Tory Lanez allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

She wrote on her Instagram stories,

“I just want to take a min to address victims of domestic violence and abuse of any kind and just overall humans, I was wrong to insinuate that there is room for violence in loving relationships, or in any relationship for that matter. I was wrong to try to find humor or make light of the situation, and understand that my joking nature was damaging and hurtful.”

She continued,

“It was poor judgment and i deeply regret it. This is a sincere apology from me to everyone. It is always my intention to uplift women, and especially black women through my platforms, my businesses, and my words.”

Original Story: Megan Thee Stallion is not happy with former Basketball Wives LA star Draya Michele after the reality star joked about Megan’s shooting incident with Tory Lanez, even comparing the situation to a “Bobby and Whitney” love.

Draya Michele made the comments about the shooting incident on the latest episode of the Wine and Weed podcast, where she joked about Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez to Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s relationship,

“I predict that they had some sort of Bobby and Whitney love that drove them down this … type of road. I’m here for it. I like that. I want you to like me so much you shoot me in the foot, too. I want you to like me so much that if I’m trying to get out the car, and you’re like, ‘No, sit your ass in the car,’ and I’m like, ‘No n***a, I’m getting out the car.’ [He goes] ‘No you’re not!’ Bah-bah!”

Megan Thee Stallion seemingly responded writing:

“Dumb b***h that sh*t ain’t f***ing funny who tf jokes about getting shot by a n***a”

Megan continued saying,

“And f**k all the h*e ass n***as making jokes about it too I’ll talk about s**t when I get ready”

Draya saw the backlash from her comments and apologized in a tweet,

“I truly don’t glorify domestic violence… I was trying to say just love me deeply. But while trying to be funny, I offended many, including meg. And I’m sorry.”

Megan recently revealed that she is still “traumatized” from the incident that happened on July 11 in a tweet,

“Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.”

As previously reported, Megan suffered gunshot wounds to her feet. It is widely speculated, but not confirmed, that Tory Lanez, who was in the car with her during the incident, may have pulled the trigger. According to reports, LAPD is investigating whether or not Tory Lanez was the shooter. It has been rumored that Tory allegedly shot Megan in the feet as she exited the SUV, amidst an argument that erupted in the vehicle.

Tory was arrested and booked for possession of a concealed weapon, as a handgun was found in the SUV. Upgrading the investigation to assault with a deadly weapon could mean new charges are coming. Reportedly, sources connected to Tory say it seems he will claim it was accidental. No additional details have yet been shared.
