Pharrell & Jay Z To Release New Track “Entrepreneur” [New Music]
Update #1: Check out the full track and video below:
Pharrell and Jay-Z are back with another collaboration dropping tonight (August 20th.) The two hit makers will release “Entrepreneur” at midnight, and the song will serve as the first collaboration since their 2018 track “Apesh*t.” The song will be in collaboration with Pharrell Williams’ TIME cover package, “The New American Revolution.” The track will be an outlet for Pharrell to discuss the struggles of being an Entrepreneur in this country, especially an entrepreneur of color. He explains,
“The intention for a song was all about how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country to begin with. Especially as someone of color, there’s a lot of systemic disadvantages and purposeful blockages. How can you get a fire started, or even the hope of an ember to start a fire, when you’re starting at disadvantages with regards to health care, education, and representation?”
Pharrell adds that,
“The song is trying to communicate that when we stick together, treat each other better and welcome each other, there’s more money and more opportunity for everyone,”

Pharrell says that Beyonce‘s “bee hive type” communities are what help circulate money in our community:
“When you have successful beehive-type communities where you can circulate money within your community, it makes a huge difference. They keep saying the American Dream is about the house and picket fence, the wife and two kids. Come on—let’s be honest. It’s always boiled down to money and an opportunity.”
In the song Pharrell raps,
“In this position with no choice, the system imprison young Black boys, distract with white noise,”
Jay Z scrutinizes Black Twitter, while stressing the importance of the Black dollar. He rhymes:
“Black Twitter, what’s that? When Jack gets paid, do you? For every one Gucci, support two FUBU’s.”
