Keke Palmer Shows Off Clear Skin W/ Filter-Free Photo: My Skin Used To Have Me Curled Up In The Bed Crying!

Keke Palmer has been very upfront about her skincare struggles over the course of her career; and it looks like she’s now found her happy place.

The actress and TV personality, 27, shared a selfie, and showed off her natural beauty on Twitter Thursday (Sept. 3). She wrote:

“I know y’all about to die at this photo cause of these lashes and these Mickey ears. BUT ITS THE SKIN FOR ME.”

She continued,

“Y’all know what I’ve endured!! My skin used to have me curled up in the bed crying. Now I really truly understand it, I’m so thankful, no filta Poohs”

Keke Palmer opened up about insecurities she had regarding her skin earlier this year. She shared a photo back in January that she described as her own inspiration.  Keke Palmer wrote:

“This is a happy picture of me and my loved ones. I’m trying to channel the energy I had in this photo because I woke up this morning in the worst spirit you guys, all because of my skin..”

She continued,

“It’s like you can try everything(which I have) and still nothing works. Every time I think my skin is on the up and up I turn around and I’m broken out even worse than before. Scarred up and wondering which products I have to throw out if not ALL. Feeling completely insecure which in turn makes you irritable and just self conscious for the smallest reasons.

Keke closed out her caption with a message of encouragement to her fans and followers with their own sense of insecurity:

“just thought to share because I know I’m not alone and people always try to cheer you up or say you look beautiful which makes it worse because that’s not how YOU FEEL. Then you feel bad about feeling bad smh. But, I think it’s okay to feel those things and to let yourself be for a minute. I’m only human and everyday I’m gonna roll with the punches but some days I will get the air knocked out of me. Gonna keep going though! Cause that’s how I was built. Much love”
