Tyler Perry Shot 4 Shows In 2 Months On Quarantine-Style Set, Filmed BET+’s ‘Bruh’ In 4 Days
It’s a wrap! Tyler Perry’s BET series “Bruh” finished filming Sunday (Sept. 6th), just four days after starting on Sept. 3.
“Bruh” is Tyler Perry’s fourth show that he’s filmed since July 9, when Tyler Perry Studios reopened to film its show “Sistas.”
His series “The Oval” and “Ruthless” were also filmed within that time frame. Ultimately, the Tyler Perry Studios cast and crew shot a total of 82 episodes in 32 shoot days and 51 quarantine days for all four shows, according to Deadline.
Tyler Perry enforced a quarantine-style bubble, requiring cast and crew members to take COVID-19 tests when they arrived on set, and to stay in their rooms until they received the results.

During that time, four crew members tested positive for COVID-19. There were a total of 360 people working in the studios.
Tyler Perry previously said of the positive tests:
“We had 160 people check in the first day, go to their rooms, get tested and wait for their results. Nobody was able to leave their rooms. We had two positives in that. So we had them escorted out and got the help that they needed.”
“We had 160 people check in the first day, go to their rooms, get tested and wait for their results. Nobody was able to leave their rooms. We had two positives in that. So we had them escorted out and got the help that they needed.”
He continued:
“Unfortunately I have two cast members that have tested positive. They’re reoccurring. So I’m trying to figure out, what do I do? Do I add two days of shooting to the end of the other shows that I’m working on to give them time to be negative? But they’re asymptomatic. So I’m just waiting to see what the best way to do that is. But everything will flow just as Sistas did.”
A cast member from “Ruthless” also reportedly tested positive.
Tyler Perry is no stranger to filming projects with a quick turnaround. The cast of his Netflix film Fall From Grace revealed it was shot in just five days.
Bresha Webb said during an interview in January:
“We did this movie in five days, so we really didn’t have time to just like… I had fun, we all have fun every time we’re on set together.”
