Update #1 (Sept 15th): Chadwick Boseman has reportedly been laid to rest. The actor was buried on September 3rd, in Belton, South Carolina. According to his death certificate, he died from from multiple organ failure, with the underlying cause being colon cancer.
Reportedly the “Black Panther” Star, underwent surgery to remove the colon cancer after he was diagnosed in 2016. Earlier this year, he had laparoscopic surgery.
Original Story: Funeral details are now being revealed for Chadwick Boseman, who died on Friday, Aug. 28th, after a secret four-year battle with colon cancer. The Black Panther actor will be laid to rest in his hometown of Anderson, South Carolina, following his shocking death at the age of 43.
The Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements for the private funeral ceremony.
Marcus Brown said in a statement:
“It’s an honor to make arrangements with this family. I’ve known them for many years, so it’s an honor but it humbles me as well.”
Marcus Brown described the Boseman family as:
“humble and not necessarily private-private, but normal people.”

Chadwick Boseman was a student at T.L. Hanna High School before he attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Directing. “The Cosby Show” actress Phylicia Rashad was one of his professors.

Some of Chadwick Boseman’s close friends and family reportedly honored the actor over the weekend in a private memorial.
Chadwick Boseman’s wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, as well as his Black Panther co-stars, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, and Winston Duke, were reportedly in attendance at a gathering held in Malibu, California.
The memorial had a framed photo of the late actor, with a floral arrangement close by, as well as music from a hang drum.
Chadwick Boseman’s family is asking for donations to go to the Chadwick Boseman Foundation instead of flowers.
Chadwick Boseman leaves behind his wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, his parents, and two brothers.

He reportedly proposed to Taylor Simone Ledward in October 2019, during his four-year battle with the condition. They are said to have gotten married in a private ceremony before his cancer unfortunately progressed. She was reportedly by his side when he passed away at their home in Los Angeles.
The two were dating for roughly a year when he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016. Sending love and condolences to the Boseman family.
