Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Shut Down Rumors Of Having Netflix Reality Show
There will be no reality show for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Netflix, at least not at this time, according to their spokesperson.
Though reports alleged earlier this month that the couple signed a multiyear deal with Netflix to produce films and shows, the spokesperson claimed
“The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows.”
To further silence the rumors, Netflix also addressed the speculation, stating:
“The couple already has several projects in development, including an innovative nature docuseries and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women, but we are not disclosing any of the programing slate at this time.”
In a statement made to The New York Times, the couple expressed:
“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
Meghan Markle, a former actress who played Rachel on USA’s “Suits”, has no plans to return to acting but may appear on camera in documentary programming, according to a representative.
The Duchess of Sussex may not show face in an acting capacity, however, her husband certainly vouched for her talent when speaking to Disney CEO, Bob Iger at last year’s Lion King red carpet premiere.
The royal nudge seemingly worked, because soon after, Meghan Markle reportedly signed a deal with Disney to do a voice-over in exchange for a contribution to a wildlife charity of her choosing.
