Tory Lanez Ordered By Judge To Stay At Least 100 Yards Away From Megan Thee Stallion
On Oct. 13 Tory Lanez appeared by phone for a hearing in an L.A. County court where he was reportedly ordered to stay away from Megan Thee Stallion, by at least 100 yards. Though it was initially supposed to be his arraignment, Tory Lanez‘ attorney, Shawn Holley requested a continuance and the singer did not have to enter a plea since it was reportedly granted.
Tory will post bail today (Oct. 13) which was set at $190k. This comes on the heels of Megan Thee Stallion writing an op-ed for The New York Times, speaking up for Black women. She addressed the now-infamous case involving Tory Lanez, saying,
“I was recently the victim of an act of violence by a man. After a party, I was shot twice as I walked away from him. we were not in a relationship. Truthfully, I was shocked that I ended up in that place.”
The “WAP” rapper added,
“My initial silence about what happened was out of fear for myself and my friends. Even as a victim, I have been met with skepticism and judgment. The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted.”
Megan Thee Stallion has become even more of an advocate for protecting Black women, as shown in her powerful Saturday Night Live performance below.
Tory has maintained his innocence throughout this entire deal. Earlier this month, he posted a message for his fans saying that the “truth will come to the light”.
If convicted, he faces up to 22 years and 8 months in prison.
