Kanye West Votes For 1st Time Ever
It looks like congratulations are in order for Kanye West. The rapper recently shared that Tuesday, November 3rd, is the first time he’s ever voted in a presidential election. Kanye West took to Twitter to share his exciting news about voting for the first time. He also said he’s voting for himself.
He tweeted,
“God is so good Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it’s for someone I truly trust…me.”
Kanye West presidential campaign has definitely been an interesting one. As previously reported, Kanye West was under fire in Wisconsin after names like ‘Micky Mouse’, ‘Kanye West’ and, ‘Bernie Sanders’ were listed among the signatures he submitted for his ballot nomination papers. According to the complaint filed against him in Wisconsin,
“Several signatories signed the nomination papers with obviously fake names. It is impossible to verify whether someone who provides a fake name is an elector who is eligible to sign a candidate’s nomination papers. Therefore, all such signatures must be stricken.”
However, lawyers for Kanye West responded and said,
“A complainant cannot simply raise an issue, with little or no evidence, and shift the burden to the candidate to prove validity–which is what Complainant attempts to do here. As such, and purported challenges, with little or no supporting evidence, should be dismissed.”
They added,
“People of color have long been marginalized in this country. In seeking to remove Kanye West from the ballot and silence the voices of those who signed to place him, the Complainants are continuing this marginalization simply because Mr. West’s views and perspectives on issues do not conform with theirs and those of the party they represent.”
