The Internet Starts Debate Over Why More People Like Rapper Saweetie Over Rapper Mulatto
A tweet by a fan on Twitter has rappers Mulatto and Saweetie currently trending, seemingly wondering why Saweetie has gotten more mainstream popularity over Mulatto.
The tweet read,
“So besides Mulatto’s name being a slur, what’s the difference between her likability and Saweetie”
Social media had a lot to say about the comparison of the rappers.

Late last year rapper Saweetie talked about being compared to other female rappers. She said,
“The women who came before me served as inspiration. I just don’t like when people compare and contrast to pit women against each other or to put another woman down. I definitely feel like women have to fight, and not just in music, but also in the corporate world or in any other industry.”
She also says that although she had a college education, she doesn’t want to be boxed in as a “college girl.”
“I think one of the boxes that people, critics, whoever, were trying to put me into was the ‘good college girl.’ And the good college girl doesn’t turn up, she doesn’t rap nasty, she’s perfect and she has no problems. That was bullsh*t.”
