Yesterday (Jan. 13) after four seasons on HBO, Issa Rae announce that Insecure will come to its conclusion with the upcoming fifth season.

“We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience. I feel blessed beyond measure to bring our characters’ stories to an end, on-screen at least.”

Reportedly, the fifth and final season of Insecure is expected to go into production later this month. The cast included Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, Amanda Seales, and Alexander Hodge and is based on Issa Rae’s online series Awkward Black Girl.
