Reality Star Paige DeSorbo Says ‘Bridgerton’ Star Regé-Jean Page Should Play James Bond ‘Because He’s Light-Skinned’, Later Apologizes
Reality star Paige DeSorbo has issued an apology after making a controversial remark about Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page.
As previously reported, fans called for Regé-Jean Page to serve as the new James Bond. While he later said he doesn’t plan on taking on the role, Paige DeSorbo of Bravo’s Summer House said on her Giggly Squad podcast that he should play it
“Because…he’s real British, he’s like light-skinned. His eyes are like… He’s like real British.”
On a recent episode of the “giggly squad” podcast w Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner from #summerhouse, Paige said that Regé-Jean Page (actor who plays the duke of hastings in Bridgerton) would make a good James Bond bc he’s “light skinned.” Paige is a white woman. THREAD pic.twitter.com/lklEqFhYYL

She later apologized for her remarks after receiving lots of backlash.
She said on her podcast:
“I wanted to take time to sincerely apologize to anyone that I may have offended. It was not my intention, and I recognize what I said was wrong. I am completely committed to learning and growing, so I just wanted to take time today and sincerely apologize for my words from last week. I’m very sorry.”
Her co-host and Summer House co-star Hannah Berner also apologized for not speaking up in the moment.
“Because we are the Giggly Squad and we are a team, I also want to apologize for not saying anything in the moment. But as the Giggly Squad, we own our s— and we are committed to continue to learn — also to un-learn — and to continue to grow.”
Hannah Berner added that they are on a “journey to educate ourselves” and recommended their listeners watch the Dark Girls documentary.
“It’s beautifully made and we can’t just recommend it enough, especially if you want to further educate yourself.”
