Tory Lanez Host Pre-Super Bowl Party With Over 100 People Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
Tory Lanez is facing backlash for hosting a party that didn’t follow the recommended COVID guidelines. According to reports, Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, hosted a large pre-Super Bowl party in Tampa, Florida on Thursday night (Feb. 4th). The football event is said to have had hundreds of attendees who were not social-distancing or wearing masks. Video footage has surfaced online of the 28-year-old rapper also not following COVID guidelines as he performed his music with a sea of fans surrounding him.
Despite Tory Lanez and his fans not following coronavirus safety protocols, there were signs at the venue that said,
“social distancing and mask guidelines will be strictly enforced as per city guidelines’ and frowned upon ‘co-mingling between seating areas.”
According to the Florida Department of Health, Florida has had 1,752,330 COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began and a total of 27,247 resident deaths. On February 5th Florida health officials reported 7,711 new cases of COVID-19 and 228 resident deaths.
Tory Lanez has yet to respond to the criticism he’s received for his Florida party but he seems to be unfazed by it. He shared video footage of himself (via his IG stories) in a night club Friday night (Feb. 5th) surrounded by another crowd of party-goers.
