Lil Mama Shares Her Plans To Start A ‘Heterosexual Rights Movement’ After Being Called Out For Transphobic Comments

Lil Mama is in the hot seat following controversial comments she made about the trans community. On Thursday (March 18th) American rapper/actress Lil Mama, born Niatia Kirkland, took to her Instagram stories to share that she’s starting a ‘heterosexual rights movement.’ In her post, she also added,

“There are so many people afraid to give their honest opinion because if they do the LGBTQ+ will hear what they want to hear and take statements out of context.”

Lil Mama’s ‘heterosexual rights movement’ post follows backlash she’s recently received for other content she’s shared online that fans have said were transphobic. The 31-year-old entertainer publicly agreed with a post that alleges transgender children are apart of a ploy to help depopulate the earth. She shared the controversial theory online and added,

“DEPOPULATION AT ANY COST CAT FIGHTS SWORD FIGHTS Used be a cat now ima dog WHATEVER TO STOP NEW LIFE REPRODUCTION,”

Bow Wow

In addition to that, the ‘Lip Gloss’ rapper made light of her recent remarks and joked that she can’t be transphobic because she looks like her rap friend Bow Wow.

This isn’t the first time that people have called Lil Mama out for making questionable comments about the transgender community. In 2009 when Lil Mama was a judge on the popular series America’s Best Dance Crew she called out a transgender dancer, Leiomy Maldonado, for being born male. When critiquing the contestant on her performance Lil Mama said,

“Leiomy, it’s unacceptable. Come on, you always have to remember your truth. You were born a man. I just feel that even though you’re the face for transgenders, you’re the face for America so people can get it and then move on.”
