Cardi B Wants To Reach Billionaire Status Like Jay-Z & Rihanna
From being a Grammy-winning rapper to being the first female lyricist to go diamond, Cardi B has already made a name for herself. But she said she has even more aspirations and hopes to one day rise to the levels of Rihanna and Jay-Z.
She told Stationhead earlier this week that she initially didn’t have anyone to point to for inspiration when she first broke into the music industry.
“When I came to the game and people used to be like, ‘Who do you look up to?’ I always used to say, ‘I don’t look up to nobody,’ because I didn’t really understand the game and I only feel like I got influenced by the people that was around me.”
Still, she said now that she’s evolved in her career, she wants to be in the same category as Jay-Z and Rihanna.
“But now that I’m at the level that I’m at, one of my biggest influences is Rihanna and JAY-Z. And I’m not just saying it to kiss a** or anything. I just feel like they’re so influential because Rihanna comes from a country, a Caribbean country, that my parents came from and she’s a whole billionaire.”
She added,
“But for her to make her business so big and be a billionaire, that’s what I strive to be. That’s what I want. I want to be a billion-dollar woman. I want to build a huge brand.”
She then saluted Jay-Z and said,
“…He’s from the hood just like me. He’s from the hood and this man’s a whole billionaire. And that’s just all about strategy and that’s just all about shaking hands, that’s just all about putting plans together.”
Jay-Z is touted as Hip-Hop’s first billionaire. His net worth recently went up to $1.4 billion after selling half of his Ace Of Spades brand to LVMH. He also sold the majority stake of TIDAL to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for $297 million.
It was also reported that Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty lingerie line is worth more than $1 billion.
