Bobby Brown & Kim Ward React To Their Son Bobby Brown, Jr.’s Death Being Ruled An Accidental Overdose: He Was Not Into Drugs, Those Who Contributed Should Be Held Accountable
Singer Bobby Brown is not staying quiet after it was reported that his son, Bobby Brown, Jr. died of an accidental overdose of cocaine, fentanyl, and alcohol.
The Every Little Step singer and Bobby Brown, Jr.’s mother, Kim Ward, released a statement on the autopsy and said they’re convinced someone gave Bobby Brown, Jr. the drugs, without him knowing.
Kim Ward said Bobby Brown, Jr. was “not into drugs,” according to PEOPLE.
She continued,
“Bobby was often easily influenced. This is a situation where he associated himself with the wrong people. My son is gone and those who contributed to his senseless death should be held accountable.”
Kim Ward and Bobby Brown’s attorney, Chris Brown, said they believe Bobby Jr. took the fentanyl “without his knowledge and we believe it killed him.”
He went on to say that even though other drugs were in his system, the amount of fentanyl in his heart and blood was deadly. Bobby Brown said,
“My family continues to mourn my son’s death. Street fentanyl has taken the life of so many people unnecessarily and Bobby Jr. is another victim. This epidemic is out of control and those supplying this lethal drug should be held responsible for the death and destruction that it causes.”
The accidental overdose has launched a criminal investigation.
Bobby, Jr. was found unconscious in November 2020. Bobby, Sr. said in a statement back then,
“Please keep my family in your prayers at this time. Losing my son at this point in our lives has devastated my family. There are no words to explain the pain.”

Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina
The loss comes after his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, died in 2015, and his ex-wife, iconic singer Whitney Houston died in 2012. Both were found unconscious in a bathtub.
