Remy Ma Maintains Her Innocence Regarding Her Involvement In 2007 Nightclub Shooting: ‘I Didn’t Shoot Anybody’

Remy Ma is denying allegations that she shot a woman in the early 2000s. American rapper Remy Ma, born Reminisce Mackie, recently joined Wendy Williams for an interview on The Wendy Williams Show. During their virtual chat, the ladies discussed what led to Remy Ma being arrested in 2007 and jailed for 6 years. According to Remy, despite her being jailed for allegedly shooting a woman in a Manhattan nightclub, she’s innocent and ‘didn’t shoot anybody.’ She said,

“I say all the time it’s like one of my models, everyone that is in prison is not guilty. The same way everybody that’s walking around in the streets is not innocent. Do y’all really think that every single time the D.A, the judge, and the jury got it right every single time?
No, they didn’t. [I] Did not know this girl, [she] wasn’t my best friend. All of these things that was said over these years were not true”

She continued,

“But once you’re in prison no one cares. And once you come home, I’m not gonna spend the rest of my life trying to prove to people like ‘I didn’t know this person. I found out her last name when y’all found out when ya’ll read it in the newspaper. This wasn’t my best friend. She didn’t babysit my kid.’ Like it was just so much lies that were told.”

Wendy Williams asked Remy was there a reason she shot the alleged victim and the ‘Concieted’ rapper replied

“I didn’t shoot anybody.”

She continued,

“If I go right now and say ‘Hey last night me and Wendy we went out and she cut me and I have a cut here on my arm’ you have to prove- they’re gonna come [to] arrest you, lock you up, and you have to somehow prove that you [didn’t do] it. If you’re by yourself and everyone else on the other side, me and all my friends are there the people that are really friends together, it’s pretty much your word against mine. If I’m sitting there in court and I say ‘Look here’s my stitches’, you know, that’s just that on that.”
