Kanye West’s Yeezy Gap Line Is ‘On Track’ To Drop This June
Kanye West’s Yeezy Gap line will reportedly be available just in time for summer. According to a report from Business of Fashion, the Gap team has said that their collaboration with Kanye West “is on track” to launch by the end of this June. The report also claims that this rollout is very important for Gap because the company has had to make some financial cuts recently including cutting down on overall cost and permanently closing some store locations. This deal is expected to be very lucrative for Kanye West as well. The ‘Heartless’ rapper will reportedly receive royalties and potential equity related to sales achievement from the deal.

As previously reported, Kanye announced that he signed a deal with Gap in June of last year. Kanye, who worked at Gap as a teenager, took to his Twitter account and shared the exciting news with the public.

According to reports, the partnership between Kanye and the Gap will be a 10-year deal. Kanye will be developing “modern, elevated” pieces for men, women, and children at reasonable price points. Last July the Global Head of Gap Brand, Mark Breitbard, shared his thoughts on the collaboration. He said,
“We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the Gap family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his YEEZY brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership.”
A few weeks after Kanye shared his tweet about his Gap partnership, news broke that his Yeezy company reportedly received more than $2 million from the Paycheck Protection Program.
According to Small Business Administration, Yeezy, which is a multi-million dollar company owned by Kanye West and Adidas, received a loan between $2 million and $5 million for COVID-19 relief. Kanye West’s company claims the loan helped them save 160 jobs.
