Kelly Clarkson Ordered To Pay Estranged Husband Almost $200,000 A Month In Spousal & Child Support
Kelly Clarkson has to pay her soon-to-be ex-husband $195,601 each month–but that’s reportedly much less than what he was originally requesting!
Yesterday (Tuesday, July 27th), Kelly Clarkson was ordered by an L.A. judge to pay her estranged husband–Brandon Blackstock, who’s her former manager’s son–$195,601 a month. The amount is a combination of $150,000 in spousal support as well as $45,601 in child support. Additionally, the “Behind These Hazel Eyes” singer also has to pay Brandon Blackstock $1.25 million for his attorney fees.
While her monthly payments may seem high, it’s only about half of what her estranged husband was originally seeking. According to PEOPLE, sources close to the situation revealed Brandon Blackstock was initially requesting that Kelly Clarkson pay him $436,000 per month. This amount combines $301,000 in spousal support and $135,000 in child support. So, in a way, the recent ruling of having to pay $195,601 a month was actually in Kelly Clarkson‘s favor. All things considered, her monthly payments come out to about $2.4 million each year.
The couple split back in June 2020 after almost seven years of marriage. Through their union, they share two young children–six-year-old River and four-year-old Remington.
