Kanye West’s highly anticipated tenth studio album, Donda, is officially here. The album was released Sunday, August 29th on multiple streaming sights and is named after his late mother, Donda West. The album was released through GOOD Music and distributed by Def Jam Recordings.
Donda was initially set to be released on July 24, 2020, but was later delayed indefinitely. Multiple sources, including Def Jam, announced a July 23, 2021 release date; the album remained unreleased on that date. Release dates between August 6 and August 15 were speculated, including being listed on the music services iTunes and Apple Music. These dates were later revised to August 20, and later changed again to August 27, with the latter date also announced by West’s manager, Bu Thiam. Following a listening party at Soldier Field on August 27, the release date was revised to September 3.
The album features guest appearances by Jay-Z, the Weeknd, Jay Electronica, the Lox, Young Thug, the late Pop Smoke, Pusha T, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, and Kid Cudi.
