Tory Lanez Having ‘Meaningful Conversations’ W/ Megan Thee Stallion’s Lawyers About A Potential Plea Deal

Tory Lanez is reportedly trying to avoid going to trial by working out a plea deal with Megan Thee Stallion‘s legal team!

As you may recall, Tory Lanez was accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot last summer. He was ultimately charged with felony assault back in October, and—if convicted—Tory Lanez could face up to 22 years and 8 months in prison.

Now, Tory Lanez and his legal team are reportedly engaged in “meaningful discussions” with prosecutors to work out a plea deal and avoid trial. According to recent reports, L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta revealed:

“We’re in possible settlement discussions.”

However, she also said the negotiations have a deadline of Nov. 3rd. If no deal is reached by then, Kathy Ta says a preliminary hearing for the trial will be scheduled for December.

Tory Lanez‘s defense attorney, Shawn Holley, acknowledged the situation by stating:

“As in every case, the lawyers for the parties discuss the possibility of resolving the case. This case is no different. That said, our position as to what did and did not happen in this matter remains unchanged, and [Tory Lanez]’s plea of not guilty stands.”

This update to the case comes just days after speculation that Tory was going to jail for violating Megan Thee Stallion‘s restraining order against him. The rumors started after Tory Lanez made a cryptic tweet this past Tuesday (Sept. 21st).

“It’s been real.”

He also deleted all content from his Instagram page.

However, Tory Lanez later clarified that everything was fine, tweeting:

“Me at my house …. watching n***as on Twitter celebrating and thinking I’m going to jail.”

Notably, he also revealed he was preparing to drop a new album.
