Marc Lamont Hill Reveals He Recently Suffered From A Mild Heart Attack & Blood Clots: Doctors Told Me That I Was Very Lucky Not To Have Died
TV personality/activist Marc Lamont Hill is finally ‘home and recovering’ after dealing with some serious health complications. Yesterday (Sept. 29) Marc Lamont Hill, 42, revealed that he was recently rushed to the emergency room after suffering from a mild heart attack following surgery he had on his Achilles. Marc Lamont Hill detailed his health scare via his Instagram page and shared a picture of himself in the hospital. He captioned the image,
“I am home and recovering after a rough week. After my successful Achilles surgery on Friday, I was rushed to the ER on Saturday after suffering a mild heart attack. Turns out that I had DVT (deep vein thrombosis), which caused a pulmonary embolism.”
Marc continued and shared that blood clots were found in his lungs.
“Blood clots nearly completely blocked my lungs, preventing blood flow to my heart. The doctors told me that I was VERY lucky not to have died. Fortunately, I received EXCELLENT medical care from the team at Temple University Hospital. The doctors accurately assessed my condition and removed the clots. My body is worn out and sore but I couldn’t feel more grateful to be alive and on the path to full recovery.”
He then encouraged his supporters to pay attention to their health.
“Please listen to your bodies. If something feels off, GO TO THE DOCTOR. Don’t worry about seeming like a pain or a hypochondriac. JUST GO. Thanks to everyone who helped, or offered to help, during this terrifying time. I’m blessed with amazing friends, wonderful family, and plenty of unmerited grace and mercy.”

As previously reported, Marc made headlines in December of last year after he revealed that his father and sister passed away within just days of one another. He shared the tragic news via his Twitter. He wrote,
“My sister died this morning. We just buried our father yesterday. This is the cruelest year that I’ve ever experienced.”

He first shared news of his father’s passing on Dec. 12, 2020.
