Chris Tucker Accused Of Owing IRS Over $9.6 Million In New Lawsuit
Chris Tucker has recently found himself in some hot water with the IRS!
According to reports, Chris Tucker has been slapped with a multi-million-dollar lawsuit. The Rush Hour actor was specifically sued by the IRS for over $9.6 million in back taxes–including penalties and interest. The agency alleges:
“Despite notice and demand for payment of the assessments set forth above, Mr. Tucker has neglected, refused, or failed to fully pay the assessments against him.”
In court documents, the IRS says that Chris Tucker has a years-long history of not fully reporting or paying his taxes. Back in 2002, the actor allegedly owed about $4.6 million but only reported and paid around half of that. In 2006, he supposedly only paid $1.18 million in taxes when he truly owed $2.18 million. There are similar accusations for subsequent years as well.
All things considered, the IRS says Chris Tucker owes the agency $9,684,452.07. However, this total could go up on account of interest, with it being noted that
“since the dates of assessment described above, interest, penalties, and statutory additions have accrued and will continue to accrue as provided by law.”
