Young Dolph Allegedly Frequented Bakery He Was Murdered In Every Time He Visited Memphis + Police Shut Down Yo Gotti’s Restaurant As A Precaution To Retaliatory Violence
Additional details surrounding Young Dolph‘s tragic passing are coming to light.
As previously reported, Young Dolph (real name Adolph Robert Thornton Jr.) was murdered in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee yesterday (Wednesday, Nov. 17th). The 36-year-old rapper was shot while inside a bakery and succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
It’s also worth noting that, less than a week before the shooting, the bakery uploaded an Instagram video of Young Dolph at the establishment, captioned:
“Young Dolph says every time he comes home he has to stop by Makeda’s Cookies.”

Since the “On the River” rapper’s murder, many have become interested in his past drama with people like Soulja Boy and Yo Gotti. Regarding the latter, Young Dolph and Yo Gotti–both from Memphis–memorably didn’t see eye-to-eye and have been beefing for the past few years.
It’s worth noting that, in the wake of Young Dolph‘s passing, Yo Gotti‘s Memphis restaurant–Prive–was temporarily shut down by authorities as a precaution against retaliatory violence. Memphis representatives also suggested that the city should mandate a curfew in response to the shooting, though it doesn’t appear to have actually been implemented.
It should also be mentioned that some photos of the alleged shooters have been circulating online. However, the images are not clear and it’s uncertain whether or not the photos are credible.
We continue to send our condolences and prayers to Young Dolph’s loved ones–as well as the city of Memphis–at this troubling time.
