Vivica A. Fox Says “Girl, I’m 57!” When Asked If She Would Consider Adopting A Child [VIDEO]
Vivica A. Fox is happy just the way she is–even if some people assume she isn’t.
Legendary actress Vivica A. Fox addressed a longstanding question for many unmarried, childless women in Hollywood. At a Q&A session held at an event, someone in the audience asked Vivica if she would be interested in adopting a child to carry on her legacy. With a leg cross and a smug glare, Vivica gave her a comedic, yet serious, response:
“Girl, I’m 57. I got 6 God babies. Don’t think that because I didn’t birth children that I don’t have children. I have 6 Godchildren, and I do not feel less fulfilled as a woman period. All I gotta do is spend an afternoon with them.”
She went on about how she recently split her time amongst the 6 children, was present for their Christmas photos, and happily sent them on their way afterward. Then she continued:
“But I love children. Please do not get me wrong. I absolutely love children. In my life, it was career over children. And I never met the man that I could have children with.”
She spoke about a time that she almost married a man but didn’t due to her family’s disapproval.

Vivica first came onto the scene in the early ’80s when she moved to California to attend college. From there, she was a Soul Train dancer, cameoed in a music video, and became a daytime soap girl. A slew of appearances in popular sitcoms such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Martin followed in the ’90s. Her film career took off with titles like Set It Off in 1996, Soul Food in 1997, and Why Do Fools Fall in Love in 1998.
In 1998, she married singer Christopher “Sixx-Nine” Harvest. The two split in 2002. The following year, she began her tumultuous relationship with rapper 50 Cent, whose career had just skyrocketed with his debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. Although their relationship waned a few years later, they continued to have heavily publicized issues with one another. Vivica has cited 50 as the “love of her life” on multiple occasions.

While Vivica appears to be content with the path her life has taken lately, she shared different sentiments about the topic several years ago. According to a source, she told Oprah Winfrey in 2014 that her biggest regret in life was not having children. She even referenced an incident where seeing fellow actress Halle Berry on the red carpet after giving birth to her daughter made her feel like she was missing out. When asked about her biggest regret, Vivica replied:
“That’s the biggest regret of my life, that I didn’t have a child.”
She concluded:
“I don’t get to see my eyes in a child. I think that’s something I’ll miss.”
Vivica A. Fox is currently a co-host on Cocktails with Queens, a show that covers hot news topics.
