Joe Rogan is making headlines once again; this time, for an even bigger issue!
In the midst of his controversial remarks about the Covid-19 vaccine, it looks like Rogan’s past is coming back to haunt him. A compilation video of Joe Rogan saying the n-word has resurfaced and has the internet buzzing. Because of this, more people are calling for artists to remove their music from Spotify and for subscribers to cancel their subscriptions. As previously reported, various music artists have chosen to boycott Spotify due to the company continuing to platform content from Joe Rogan–a podcast host/comedian who has repeatedly made false and derogatory claims about the Covid-19 vaccine.

According to reports, in 2019, Spotify allegedly paid $100 million for the exclusive streaming rights to Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience”. Since the recent controversy, they have let listeners know they would be taking steps to inform subscribers about Rogan’s COVID-19 misinformation. While Joe Rogan has apologized, calling the dialogue on his podcast “just conversations,” more of his bad behavior is coming to the surface.

On Wednesday (Feb.2), Spotify CEO Daniel Ek addressed some of Rogen’s COVID-19 misinformation controversy, saying they are trying to “trying to balance creative expression with the safety of our users.” Ek said,
“Of course, this is a very complicated issue. But I’m really proud of the steps that we took following the concerns raised by the medical and scientific communities.”
In his public apology, Joe Rogan claims he is “sorry” and that he will “try to balance views.”
