Chingy – Estée Lauder Senior Exec Pushed Out Of Company, Losing $10M Salary After Posting Offensive Meme About Rapper

John Demsey’s latest instagram post is costing him big time!

After sharing a meme that included use of the n-word and referenced hip-hop rapper Chingy, Estée Lauder senior executive John Demsey was told to leave the company. Costing the 30-year vet nearly $10 million dollars in annual salary.

John Demsey has officially been forced to retire from giant makeup company Estée Lauder, less than a week after posting an offensive viral meme to his personal instagram page. The meme included a racial slur, was seemingly mocking Covid – 19, and was based on popular 2000’s rap artist Chingy. The post featured characters from the children’s television show Sesame Street and read:

“M n***a Snuffy done got the ’rona at a Chingy concert”.

The 65 year-old beauty industry personality claims that he didn’t even read the meme before posting it. Taking to his instagram before the news of his release from the company was made public writing:

“I am terribly sorry and deeply ashamed that I hurt so many people when I made the horrible mistake of carelessly reposting a racist meme without reading it beforehand. I am so sorry that I let down the company that I have dedicated my life’s work to as well as its employees, artists, friends, and colleagues. I hope that in time people will judge me, not for this awful mistake, but for my lifetime of words and actions, which demonstrate my respect for all people.”

According to reports, the beauty company’s senior exec made a total of  $9.6 million in salary as of the end of the 2021 fiscal year.

Chingy has since responded to the matter in a video posted to his instagram account. In the video, Chingy states:

“Y’all wanna know what I’m doing while everybody is gossiping talking about I’m trending around the world over some stuff I’m not even concerned about and I didn’t take to heart…It doesn’t mean much to me because I think it was just an honest mistake the guy made.”

He continued:

“I just got off a military tour, and now guess what I’m doing (before showing his adorable daughter). I’m hanging out with my daughter – while everyone in the world has my name in their mouth. Peace and love to that brother. I didn’t take it no type of way.”

It’s unreported if the former senior exec will be compensated any severance pay, however a rep for Estée Lauder did insist that Demsey was not terminated, rather forced to retire this week.

Do you think Demsey’s meme was enough grounds for termination? Let us know in the comments!
