Tory Lanez Discusses His Hair, Says He Has Alopecia After Jokes About It Falling Out

Tory Lanez‘s hair has been the subject of much discussion. The rapper, 29, has admitted in the past to struggling with hair loss and taking steps to restore it. But now he’s opening up a little more.

On Twitter, Tory Lanez claimed that it’s the result of alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that affects hair growth.

“I’m fully aware of the bald spot in the back of my head guys,” he wrote. “I rap about it all the time…”

He continued:

“It’s alopecia… . What’s the big deal.”

Fans and followers shared supportive words in the comment section.

But others didn’t believe him, thinking he might have been trolling and joking about what happened at the 2022 Oscars. During the event, Chris Rock made a joke on stage about Jada Pinkett Smith‘s shaved head, not realizing she has alopecia. “Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it,” he joked, referencing a war film with Demi Moore in which she shaved her head.

After seeing Jada Pinkett Smith‘s pained reaction to the joke, Will Smith walked on stage and slapped Chris Rock.

To some fans, it seems like Tory Lanez was just trying to be funny.

The rapper has been at the center of jokes about his hair for the longest since photos emerged showing him with bald spots on his head. In 2019, he said that he had started the hair restoration process in an effort to fix the issue.
