Sheree Whitfield Speaks On Her Return To ‘RHOA’ & NeNe Leakes Lawsuit Against Bravo: I’m Staying Far Away From That
The Real Housewives of Atlanta OG Shereé Whitfield seemingly doesn’t want anything to do with NeNe Leakes’ ongoing suit against Bravo!
During a recent interview, Shereé Whitfield, 52, dished about her excitement for the new season of RHOA and her appreciation for her fans and their support.
“I feel super blessed to have come back for the third time. To even consider me or [have] the fans who continuously have supported me throughout the years and asked for my return and for them to listen. Housewives is a very smart brand and they go with what worked, and I guess I worked.”
Shereé Whitfield explained that while this wasn’t the first time she was approached by Bravo to return to RHOA, this go-around was the best timing for her.
“I felt like I was in a better place, I wasn’t dealing with the past [and] I felt like I dealt with so much drama going on in my life.. I felt like I was in a happy place mentally and physically, and it was just a good time for me.”
Shereé promised that fans will see a different side of her this season, revealing that she opened herself to love and growth in a new way.
“I feel like I’m mentally just in a different place. I’ve always been completely transparent, the good, the bad, the ugly. You guys have watched me go through a divorce, fight for child support, take 15 years to build a home, saw the struggles I’ve gone through with ‘She by Sheree’–and that’s another thing that I really get into, some of the reasons why I feel like it took me so long. So you guys will see that process, you’ll see the process of me moving forward but you’ll also get to hear a lot of the problems and issues that I had with, you know, ‘She by Sheree’ in the past.”
During her interview, Shereé revealed that she’s still friends with several former RHOA castmates, including previous fan-favorite Phaedra Parks, 48, and OG Lisa Wu, 51. She also addressed RHOA alum NeNe Leakes’, 54, ongoing legal battle against Andy Cohen, Bravo, and the producers behind the popular franchise.
As previously reported, Nene Leakes sued Bravo, the producers behind The Real Housewives Of Atlanta, and Andy Cohen claiming they fostered and tolerated a hostile and racist work environment. NeNe accuses the defendants of ignoring her complaints about former co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann. NeNe claims Kim made several racially-offensive statements while filming. She alleges that the network and producers often ignored her and even told her to stop speaking about the matter publicly. NeNe also says Kim never suffered consequences for her actions but instead was given her own spin-off show.
In the suit, Nene Leakes claims she was
“denied the right to do other work other than filming for RHOA when other housewives (who had not spoke out against racially- offensive treatment) were permitted the right to do other work.”
“I’m staying far away from that….I have a great relationship with Bravo and I have not experienced what she’s experienced, but I wish her [Nene] the best in all her endeavors.”
