Update – Bill Cosby Not Worried About $500K Verdict in Civil Suit: That’s All? Booyah!
Update: Bill Cosby might have 99 problems but money isn’t one of them.
According to reports, Bill Cosby wasn’t bothered when he was found liable in a civil suit accusing him of sexually assaulting a then-16-year-old girl. The alleged incident will cost the comedian $500,000. However, that appears to be chump change to him. Cosby’s rep Andrew Wyatt claims that when he called his client to inform him of the verdict he said,
“What? That’s all?”
The actor reportedly added,
“Booyah!”
Original Story: Bill Cosby has found himself in more legal trouble. Jurors at a civil trial found that the now 84-year-old comedian sexually abused a 16-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion in 1975, according to the Associated Press.
The verdict was found in favor of Judy Huth, who is now 64. She was awarded $500,000.
Jurors found that Cosby intentionally caused harmful sexual contact with Huth, that he reasonably believed she was under 18, and that his conduct was driven by unnatural or abnormal sexual interest in a minor. Huth’s lawsuit was one of the last remaining legal claims against him after his insurer settled many others against his will. He continues to deny the allegation and maintains his innocence.
Do you agree or disagree with the verdict?
