Update: Ne-Yo Asks For Privacy After His Wife, Crystal Smith, Blasts Him For Allegedly Being A Serial Cheater: Personal Matters Are Not Meant To Be Addressed & Dissected In Public Forums

Update: Ne-Yo has wasted no time in responding to his wife’s serious allegations. He took to Twitter today (July 31) and asked for the world to respect his family’s privacy. He said,

“For the sake of our children, my family and I will work through our challenges behind closed doors. Personal matters are not meant to be addressed and dissected in public forums. I simply ask that you please respect me and my family’s privacy at this time.”

Original story: R&B singer Ne-Yo’s wife is making some serious marital allegations against him.

Crystal Smith took to her Instagram yesterday (July 30th), accusing the musician of stepping out on her during their entire 8-year marriage. As previously reported, Ne-Yo announced he was divorcing his wife back in March of 2020 before proposing to her again in January the following year. This time around, however, the mother of three says she won’t be staying in the relationship.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Smith, who has seemingly dropped Ne-Yo’s (born Shaffer Smith) last name signing the statment Crystal Renay, wrote:

“8 years of lies and deception. 8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous of women who sell their bodies to him unprotected… every last one of them! To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is an understatement. To ask me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane. The mentality of a narcissist.”

She continued:

“I will no longer lie to the public or pretend that this is something it isn’t. I choose me, I choose my happiness and health and my respect. I gained 3 beautiful children out of this but nothing else but wasted years and heartache,”

Smith went on to claim that women have been sending her proof of her estranged husband’s infidelities. Asking that she no longer be included in the cheating narrative, she continued:

“I ask that you all please stop sending me videos or information of him cheating because what he does is no longer my concern. I am not a victim. I’m choosing to stand tall with my head held high. If someone can’t love you the way you deserve then it’s up to you to love yourself. With no hate in my heart I wish him nothing but the best.”

Smith followed up the accusations with a few more cryptic posts about moving on and getting closure.

After announcing their split back in 2020, the couple reconciled just 8 months later. Appearing together on talk shows discussing the issues in their marriage, Smith claimed she was blindsided by Ne-Yo announcing their divorce. While visiting the Tamron Hall show, she stated:

“We weren’t really talking at that time. I chose to leave the relationship because of issues, and at the time I felt like it was to get back at me or to hurt me, or whatever the case may be.”

She continued:

“He said that it wasn’t so I took his word for that. But it definitely didn’t feel good, it was embarrassing to say the least.”

Since getting back together all has seemed well. Ne-Yo posted a sweet mother’s day message to Smith earlier this year, and the two reportedly renewed their vows just a few months ago.

However, by Smith’s revelation and subsequent cryptic posts, it seems the pair may have a hard time recovering. Ne-Yo has opted not to make any public statements regarding the post at this time, however, reports claim that the singer liked the original post.
