Kim Zolciak-Biermann Defends Her Underaged Daughter After DUI Arrest: Ariana Was Not Impaired By Any Substance
Kim Zolciak-Biermann is speaking out regarding her daughter Ariana Biermann’s recent arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
On August 16, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum came to her daughter’s defense three days after the 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Kim Zolciak-Biermann, 44, addressed her daughter’s arrest via her IG stories. The reality star shared,
“Ariana was involved in a minor fender bender. When police arrived on the scene, the investigating officer immediately initiated an investigation for DUI of alcohol. Despite Ariana’s constant invocation that she was upset and anxious from the minor accident, the officer incorrectly concluded she was impaired. That was not the case.”
While Kim Zolciak-Biermann plans on settling the dispute outside of the media, she doubled down on her claims that her daughter Ariana Biermann was,
“not impaired by any substance, including alcohol or marijuana.”
Kim did claim that Ariana admitted to “consuming marijuana the day before” the accident occurred. She continued,
“Since she was being cooperative and honest, she admitted to consuming marijuana the day before, meaning over 24 hours prior to her contact with the law. In addition, the arresting officer, as evidenced by his own police report, charged Ariana with impairment by alcohol. She wholly denies these allegations and intends to fight these charges because she is not guilty of them.”
The television personality concluded,
“We appreciate the general public allowing this case to be tried on its merits, and not rhetoric or incorrect conclusions.”
As previously reported, Ariana and her boyfriend, Hudson McLeroy, were arrested over the weekend at around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning (August 13). The pair were arrested after being involved in a collision with another vehicle while driving a black Mercedes G-Wagon.
After being taken to Forsyth County Jail in Georgia, Ariana was charged with three misdemeanors: driving under the influence of alcohol, improper/erratic lane change, and underage possession/purchase of alcohol. She was later released on a $5,120 bond.
