Dame Dash Reflects On His Rocky Past W/ Estranged Friend Jay-Z: How Would You Feel If Your Brother Betrayed You For Money?
Dame Dash is once again opening up about his past friendship and business relationship with Jay-Z.

In a recent interview, Dame Dash reflected on his relationship with Roc-A-Fella’s co-founder Jay-Z. Dame Dash and Jay-Z, 52, created Roc-A-Fella together in 1994. When asked if he and Jay-Z “could’ve had more together,” Dame, born Damon Anthony Dash, replied:
“Yeah, all that, but we were friends. … Like, how would you feel if your brother just betrayed you for money? Would it hurt?”
Dame proceeded to admit that Jay-Z’s actions wasn’t surprising. The 51-year-old said:
“That’s the algorithm. It wasn’t surprising ’cause that’s what always happens.”
Dame continued:
“It was surprising ’cause no one—that’s what it was, we were breaking the algorithm, we were doing it a different way and sticking together, but that’s what always happens. They make one sell out the other, their friend, divide and conquer, that’s a normal story.”
Dame added:
“That was my n*gga, like we never argued, nothing.”
He shared:
“That’s why I didn’t know it was coming. … That was some real slick sh*t. I was like, ‘That n***a’s cold. He’s cold.’’
Dame expressed himself a year after Roc-A-Fella sued him for allegedly attempting to auction Jay-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt” album as an NFT. Both parties reached a settlement in June which stopped Dame from selling Jay-Z’s, born Shawn Carter, 1996 debut album. The agreement disclosed that Dame can sell one-third ownership stake in Roc-A-Fella.

The legal documents stated:
“Unless duly authorized by RAF, Inc., no shareholder or member of RAF, Inc. may alter in any way, sell, assign, pledge, encumber, contract with regard to, or in any way dispose of any property interest in Reasonable Doubt, including its copyright and including through any means such as auctioning a non-fungible token reflecting, referring, or directing to such interest.”
Last year in July, Dame alleged Roc-A-Fella’s lawsuit was inaccurate. He said:
“Under the terms of the deal with a potential buyer, the buyer would buy my share of Roc a Fella Records and Jay-Z will have exclusive administration rights.”
