Lil Tjay Updates Fans After Being Shot Seven Times In Attempted Robbery: Most People Don’t Survive It But I’m Here
Lil Tjay speaks out for the first time after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
On Wednesday (Aug. 24) rapper Lil Tjay took to Instagram to share with his fans that he is back and better than ever after fighting for his health in the emergency room amid being shot. Lil Tjay said:
“Hey what’s going on y’all. It’s your boy Tjay man. I’m just checking in with y’all.”
The 21-year-old continued:
“I just wanna say thanks for the love, thanks for the support. I’ve been looking at the DMs, you know what I’m saying, the comments and everything else and I feel love, you know what I’m saying?”
The Bronx native added:
“Seven shots. It was tough, you know? Most people don’t survive it but I’m here. Here for a reason and new music coming soon. We gon come back stronger than ever man, love y’all.”
As previously reported, Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was shot in Edgewater, New Jersey on Wednesday (June 22) just after midnight. Reports state that there were two shooting sites – one of them occurred at a nearby Chipotle and the other incident occurred at an Exxon gas station. Tjay was rushed into surgery and remained unconscious for some time. A man named Mohamed Konate was arrested on behalf of shooting Tjay multiple times. The gunman was also taken to a hospital after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
