Pete Davidson Is Focused On Himself & His Career Following Split From Kim Kardashian

It looks like Pete Davidson, 28, is done keeping up with Kim Kardashian for good.

The ex Saturday Night Live comic is reportedly leaving the reality TV star in the rearview as he moves on with his life for the sake of himself and his promising career.

A source said,

“Pete is focusing on himself and his career right now and trying to make himself happy. He’s got a huge career ahead of him and has a ton of irons in the fire post-SNL.”

They added,

“He has a hugely ambitious streak. Pete wants to continue his standup comedy routine, challenge himself with new acting roles. He enjoyed the experience in Australia a lot, really bonded with the cast and crew and is excited about the future.”

As previously reported, the SKIMS owner and the Big Time Adolescence actor called it quits earlier this month after just nine months of dating. While it can’t be said for sure what caused their breakup, their 13-year age gap is said to have been a contributing factor on Kim Kardashian‘s end.

According to a source,

“Kim’s expressed she’s ready to date someone older but it has to be the right person who understands her life. She isn’t compromising her freedom right now.”

Despite their “strong connection,” a source added that Kim Kardashian, 41, couldn’t have the same spontaneity Pete Davidson’s life permitted — such as staying in Australia with him for an extended period of time while he filmed a movie, per his request.

The former lovers were first romantically linked in October 2021 when they were seen holding hands on a roller coaster at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park, California. Prior to their public debut, they shared an on-screen kiss on Saturday Night Live. Kim made their romance Instagram official back in March, just a couple of weeks after being declared legally single from ex-husband, Kanye West — who spent a lot of time tormenting the couple online.

Pete Davidson allegedly proposed to Kim before she ended their relationship and decided to remain friends. An inside source explained,

“Everything was just moving too fast. Kim wanted to slow things down and instead Pete proposed. He is devastated. Everyone warned him that he was going to push her away, but he didn’t listen. Remember, this is the same guy that proposed to Ariana Grande after just a few weeks. Pete learned nothing from that relationship. He falls hard and he falls fast.”

Davidson and Ariana Grande dated for just a few weeks before getting engaged in 2018. The engagement was short-lived, with the couple calling it off in October of that same year. Davidson, at the time, was hoping to rekindle their relationship, but similar to the same concerns raised by Kim, Ariana Grande reportedly felt everything moved too fast. The singer went on to dedicate her song “Thank U, Next” to Davidson, as well as to her other exes Mac Miller and Big Sean.

While he is currently focused on himself, Davidson will apparently have no trouble finding love again when he is ready.

According to a source,

“Pete’s charming guy with bags of confidence and humor, plus he’s also super intelligent and a great listener. It’s not all that surprising to the folks who know him that he’s such a hit with the ladies.”

It’s been said that you can’t put a timeline on true love, but it’s possible that Davidson will take a break from work at some point in the near future, considering his “dream” of someday getting married and having a child. He previously told Kevin Hart,

“My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, I wanna have a kid. That’s like my dream.”
